We Work in Nepal

Nepal
The beautiful city of Pokhara, nestled between mountains and lakes, hosts the 4th Forgotten Children Home. Sher and Kalpana Lama, the host couple, met as orphans, married, and now have a deep passion to reach out to street children. This home houses 14 children along with three of the Lamas children. Their hope is to have 20 children from 8 different villages by the end of 2007.
They believe that when these children's basic needs are provided for and they're given an education, they will have every opportunity to flourish in society. The Lamas' have been renting a home in the city, but through a generous donation, they are building their first home on the outskirts of the city to fulfill their dream - a place for the children to grow, learn and be nurtured and given a vision and desire to go back to their villages to care for others.
Of the 16 children who reside at the home, just 11 are currently sponsored. Their newly-constructed home will be able to house up to 20 children, but more support needs to be raised before they can allow additional children in the home. Although the children's expenses have been covered in the short term by one-time gifts and the general budget, we have a urgent need for people who will financially support these children for the long term.

Get Involved
Please consider supporting a child today. For only $1 per day you can invest into one child's life forever. We also have a need to provide funding for the house parents and support staff who have given their lives to love and care for these children. You can sponsor a staff member for approximately $3 per day.
